- Promote healthy and drug-free lifestyles

INCOME STRATEGIES
TARGET
- Citizens are able to be financially stable
- Citizens live productive and stable lives
STRATEGY
- Support access to job readiness services, soft skills training, and continued education opportunities
- Support volunteer income tax assistance program (VITA) to recover Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC) dollars
- Expand financial literacy through education, counseling and financial resources
- Improve access to assistance to meet basic needs (food, clothing, rent/mortgage, housing, utilities, medicine, transportation, etc.)
- Support programs that help citizens gain safe and stable living environments
ACTION STEPS
- Partner engagement to expand resources
- Facilitate conversations with Workforce Development to: Promote services, Create linkages to assistance programs, Provide materials and public awareness of Work One, Increase business usage of Work Keys (job skill assessments)
- Facilitate local Financial Stability Coalition to build relationships, expand resources, and plan for the 2011 EITC program
- Implement EITC program
- Convene partners to establish financial mentoring program
