COVID-19 Relief Initiative Application Available Through United Way Miami County

United Way of Miami County is pleased to announce the COVID-19 Economic Relief Initiative Grant application made possible through a partnership between Lilly Endowment, Inc. and Indiana United Ways is now available on the United Way website,  This COVID-19 ERI grant will be used to boost the efforts of selected area human and social service nonprofits on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic.    

Grant coordinator Marcia Minard stated, “United Way of Miami County and Miami County Community Foundation are once again partnering to assist the citizens of Miami County to help ensure COVID-19 related needs are being met during this time of uncertainty.  We are working closely with nonprofit organizations and agencies to help find resources and solutions to support the immediate and long-term recovery phases of this pandemic.  We want our communities to know we are here to help each other, and together we will overcome this crisis.” 

Board members from UW and MCCF have volunteered to form a committee to review the ongoing applications and oversee the distribution of the funds to nonprofit organizations and agencies to ensure the diligence of the generous donation from Lilly Endowment, Inc.  Funds from the $225,000 grant have been divided into phases - immediate response and mid to long-term recovery.  Grant request criteria and guidelines are available on the website at Please also complete the IUW COVID-19 survey on the COVID-19 link.  The committee’s intent is that grant applications will be available until October 31, 2021, however, the fund may be exhausted prior to that date.
