Splash Bash Festival starts the day at Wayne Street Bridge, launching homemade raft and kayak races scheduled to begin at noon and continue till 2:00 pm. Next, the Splash Bash Ducky Drop drops at Broadway at 3:00 pm. In addition to the racing, a full schedule of events, including activities for children, is in the works. Live music schedule from 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Plans also call for vendors on hand for food.
Homemade rafts made the competition popular the last time the United Way sponsored the event. The rafts and their names - Riff Raft, the Sea Horse, and Frog Log made the event for the spectators.
All the proceeds from the events will go towards this year's Lasting Legacy, a 1:1 match grant to help the homeless, and United Ways-funded initiatives.
