UWMC COVID-19 Press Release 3-24

COVID-19 PRESS RELEASE

United Way of Miami County, IN

March 24, 2020

During this time of uncertainty, United Way of Miami County (UWMC) is even more dedicated to continue working with our local agencies to help ensure support to our community. We know there will be food, health, and economic implications due to COVID-19. Therefore, UWMC has set up two funds. The ‘Food Relief Effort Fund’ was kicked off with a $5,000 gift from the Miami County Community Foundation. Through our partnership we're able to send additional funding directly to the agencies where their efforts will be able to have an immediate impact close to home. UWMC has also established an emergency allocation for medication, transportation, and special needs. To inquire call UMWC office at 473-4240.  By setting up these funds, we have the ability to rapidly engage resources with community-based organizations on the front lines.  It’s easy to feel helpless in the face of uncertainty, but you can help our community through this crisis with your donation to these efforts.
