The United Way of Miami County's annual campaign kickoff, held on August 24, 2024, was a resounding success, raising over $20,000—the highest amount in the event's history. The "Viva Las Vegas" themed gala saw a remarkable doubling in attendance, sponsorships, and donations compared to previous years.
“I am amazed at the community support we received for this year’s gala. We doubled our attendance, sponsorship, and donations for this one event, and I am thrilled to see what we can do with the remaining four months of 2024,” said Miami County United Way’s Executive Director, Morgan Gold. “The funds collected tonight will help launch the start of our 2024 campaign, which this year is $170,000.”
“I have attended the Gala in the past, this was the first time I had the opportunity to be a part of the Gala as a United Way board member,” said Tanya Masters, who became a board member in January of 2024. “That changed everything! To see the smiles, hear the laughter, and witness the amount of generosity shown amongst everyone shows what an incredible community we live in.”
The gala's success is a testament to the community's commitment to the United Way's mission: to unite people and resources to build a stronger and healthier Miami County. The funds raised are crucial for the continuation and expansion of initiatives and programs that target health, education, and financial stability, directly impacting the lives of residents in Miami County. This event not only serves as a fundraiser but also as a celebration of community spirit and a reminder of the collective power of generosity.
