Annually on a Saturday in May, the United Way joins with the US Postal Service to conduct a county-wide food drive to fight hunger in our community. Letter carriers collect thousands of pounds of food and United Way volunteers sort, weigh, and organize the donations to stock local food pantries. Volunteers are asked to gather behind the Post Office located on Broadway in Peru.  Volunteers can sign up here

📢 Attention Local Food Pantries! 🥫

The Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive is coming up on Saturday, May 10, and we want to make sure your pantry can benefit from the incredible amount of food our community will be donating!

If your food pantry would like to receive a portion of the collected food, here’s what you need to do:

Contact Morgan Gold to confirm your participation.

Provide at least 2 volunteers to help sort and organize donations during the day.

Pick up your food from the Peru Post Office between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM on May 10.

All collected food will be divided equally among participating pantries unless there are capacity or storage concerns.

Morgan Gold can be contacted at morgang@uwmiamip.org or 317-457-0014 and volunteers can sign up by clicking here.

Let’s work together to get this food into the hands of the families who need it most! 💙🥫
