United Way of Miami County Celebrates a Successful 5K Event for Scholarship Fund

Peru, IN – The United Way of Miami County is proud to announce the success of its 5K Run & Walk event held Friday, April 25th at Rock Hollow Golf Course. Thanks to strong community support, the event grossed over $2,600, all of which will directly support the United Way of Miami County Scholarship Fund, helping local students achieve their educational dreams.

Despite a forecast that threatened rain, dedicated runners and walkers came out and crossed the finish line just before the skies opened up. United Way Executive Director Morgan Gold shared, "We missed the rain by just a hair, and the energy and support from everyone who showed up made it a truly memorable evening!"

Top winners included:
🏅 Craig Miller – Men's Division Winner
🏅 Kaylynn Cataldo – Women's Division Winner
🏅 Halle Shirrell – Youth Division Winner

United Way extends a special thank you to our generous sponsors, whose support made the event possible:

  • Gold Sponsors: Beacon Credit Union and Representative Ethan Manning & Dr. Bridget Kennedy
  • Silver Sponsors: First Farmers Bank & Trust and Wabash Valley Abstract
  • Bronze Sponsors: Crossroads Bank and Logansport Savings Bank

We are also incredibly grateful to Rock Hollow Golf Course for hosting the race and providing a beautiful course for participants to enjoy.

"Events like these show the incredible heart of Miami County," said Gold. "Together, we are investing in the future of our youth."
