Health

Whether it is a neighbor without health insurance, a victim of abuse, or someone struggling with mental illness or an addiction, United Ways are working to ensure everyone has access to affordable and quality care.

Education

Education is the cornerstone of individual and community success. But with more than 1.2 million children dropping out each year, America faces an education crisis.

Volunteer

Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy. United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Living united means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED.

Education is the building block

We identify and build on community strengths and assets, help individuals and groups with specific community interests find ways to contribute their time and talents. We can’t focus on high school alone. High school dropouts are 12 years in the making, usually starting early childhood education behind schedule. Tackling the education challenge requires reframing education on a birth to 21 continuum.

Whether it is a neighbor without health insurance, a victim of abuse, or someone struggling with mental illness or an addiction, we are working to ensure everyone has access to affordable and quality care.

Financial Stability

As many as one-third of working Americans do not earn enough money to meet their basic needs. Wages have not kept pace with the rising cost of housing, healthcare, and education and currently, 40 million Americans are working in low-paying jobs without basic health and retirement benefits. For families walking a financial tightrope, unable to save for college, a home, or retirement, we are here to help.

PERU – United Way of Miami County is almost half way to its campaign goal that ends Dec. 31.

“Every little bit helps when it comes to helping provide basic needs for our residents,” Wallick said.

“Sometimes people just think, well, it’s taken care of. They’re OK without my contribution,” Wallick said. “Our message right now is we’re not OK without your donation.”
